The Batik Guild celebrates 20 years of batik art

BATIK TRANSITIONS
From classic to contemporary

In 2006, we celebrated our 20th anniversary by gathering together a major touring exhibition. This showed fine examples of traditional batik from around the world alongside selected contemporary work from Guild members. The work was chosen to reflect a wide variety of media, styles and techniques.

The exhibition ran from September 2006 until August 2007 at regional galleries throughout the UK, and at the Knitting and Stitching shows in Birmingham, London and Harrogate.

In October 2010 The Batik Guild will be exhibiting members' work in East Anglia. After that, the next national exhibition will be in Glasgow, Scotland in 2011. More details will be available in the exhibitions section and the members' magazine later this year.
